Venison is genuinely lean — lower in saturated fat than beef and rarely used as a primary ingredient in commercial pet food, which means most dogs come to it without prior exposure. That makes venison strips a useful chew for dogs on a rotation diet or where you are managing a protein sensitivity and need something single-source and traceable.

These are flat strips rather than pressed or formed shapes — the texture gives dogs something to work with, which slows eating and provides some passive dental benefit. They are not a dental chew in the clinical sense, but chewing is chewing.

At 38.5% crude protein, the nutritional density is solid for a complementary chew. The 31.8% fat content means they are not a low-calorie option — factor that in for dogs on a weight management programme.
